INSOL International strives to provide the highest level of education and informative programming in the areas of international insolvency and reorganisation. Its goals include the advancement of opportunities for rehabilitation of businesses and the preservation of employment; to foster and promote interchange among judges, judicial administrators and regulators; and to provide a unique forum place. This work would not be possible without the Group of Thirty-Six (G36) firms which are the principle vehicle for these activities.
In recent years, the Group of Thirty-Six has been responsible for a host of Judicial, Legislative, and Regulatory Forums and Round tables (virtual and in person), as well as Judicial Training in countries such as Rwanda, Vietnam, Egypt, and Mediation Colloquiums. It has also helped to run a series of Financiers’ Meetings in London, New York and Hong Kong.
Another example of INSOL International's work, made possible by the G36, in collaboration with the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), is the development and promulgation of the Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency. The adoption of the Model Law will facilitate the rehabilitation and reorganisation of businesses and make cross-border insolvency problems easier to solve.
