The “Instituto Iberoamericano de Derecho Concursal – Capitulo Colombiano”, or “Instituto Colombiano de Derecho Concursal”, as it is also called, is a non-profit association that seeks to promote research, analysis and discussion of insolvency law at a national and comparative level.

The Institute acts as an advisor to the government, as well as to private, supra-state entities and the judicial branch. It also promotes academic activities, such as the Annual Congress of Insolvency Law and the publication of “Actualidad Concursal”, a bi quarterly magazine specialized in the latest insolvency law developments in Latin American.

Additionally, the Institute provides training courses for individuals and/or public and private institutions that have interests in the subject matter, seeking through these activities to develop an awareness of the social and economic importance of the rules concerning bankruptcy law and the effects it can have on economic and business growth.
