Ian Strang was the first President of INSOL International and was instrumental in creating INSOL International, laying the foundations of the association that we have today. To recognise his achievements INSOL International has created an award in memory of Ian. The Ian Strang Founders Award provides an educational opportunity for an academic or practitioner specialising in insolvency law to attend the Annual INSOL International Academic Colloquium.
In order to qualify for the award, applicants must be an academic researcher in the field of law or accountancy specialising in insolvency law, or a qualified lawyer or accountant with a keen interest in academia as well as the practical aspects of the subject, and must submit a paper of no more than 10,000 words dealing with a topic relating to international insolvency law.
INSOL International particularly invites submissions that include a comparative approach or an innovative angle to established research areas, or have the capacity to open new fields of research.
The paper should be an original piece of work that has not previously been published in the form in which it is submitted and must be submitted by 31 January 2021 at the latest. Applicants are requested to submit their CV together with the completed paper.
A panel of international academics and professionals will judge the papers and make the award by 28 February 2021.
The successful applicant will:
- be invited to attend the INSOL International Academic Colloquium held during 2021 and will be provided with an allowance to cover travel and accommodation;
- be provided with the opportunity of presenting the paper at the INSOL International Academic Colloquium in 2021;
- have their paper published on the INSOL website.
Please email your application by 31 January 2021 to [email protected].
Please note that no late submissions will be considered.
